Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers – Annual Conference
October 12 @ 8:00 am - October 14 @ 5:00 pm
GCEC INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
We are writing to invite you to our kitchen party this October in Halifax Nova Scotia. The theme this year is “Catalyzing Deep Change in Regional Communities: Making a Dent in the Universe Together”. The three host universities (Dalhousie, Saint Mary’s and the University of New Brunswick) are convinced that our regional economic development problems are not unique to Atlantic Canada. The 2017 conference will be a nexus for sharing: ideas, best practices and community building, to facilitate, activate, and jumpstart the same entrepreneurial movement we are seeing in our region – in other regions around the world.
MAKING A DENT IN THE UNIVERSE TOGETHER
The Atlantic Region of Canada encompasses the four most eastern Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island. Over 2.3 million people call Atlantic Canada home. The region and its business community have a commercial and social agenda that includes a call to action to provide leadership to create a sustainable and prosperous economy – one that promotes both self-reliance, and social well-being. The three host institutions firmly believe that that the region represents the perfect Petri dish for experimentation in “making a dent in the universe together” and we look forward to seeing you in Halifax this fall so we can listen to your narrative. All presentations must reflect the core conference theme. Our focus is on ways entrepreneurship centers can serve as catalysts for collaboration, empowerment and transformation. Presenters will share best practices and latest innovations in educating and supporting students, managing the entrepreneurship center, spreading entrepreneurship across the campus, and working with the many stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem both inside and outside the university.
